Support Congressional Caucus for Bosnia
The Center for Balkan Development is working with the Bosniak American Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BAACBH) to encourage relevant members of Congress to join the bipartisan Congressional Caucus for Bosnia <http://www.baacbh.org/site/en/?action=bosnianCaucus>. The caucus will provide Congressional support for necessary political and economic reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The caucus is chaired by longstanding friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Congressman Russ Carnahan (D-MO) and Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ). We are encouraging voting citizens who support a democratic and prosperous Bosnia and Herzegovina to be proactive on this issue by contacting their representatives in the U.S. Congress and asking them to join the Congressional Caucus for Bosnia. We hope that the Bosnian American diaspora, now numbering over 350,000, will actively engage in the caucus' activities.
How do I get my Congressional representative to join the Bosnian Caucus?
1. First you need to find out who your rep is (click here <http://baacbh.org/site/en/?action=bosnianCaucusWrite>) 2. Contact your rep's district office by e-mail, mail, telephone or fax and ask them to join the Bosnian Caucus. 3. Follow up. You must remember to be persistent. It does not hurt to follow up.

Honorable (full name) (address of your representative - "district office")
Dear congressman/congresswoman/senator (surname of representative)
My name is (your name and surname) and as your constituent from (your place of residence), I am writing to ask you to join the newly formed Congressional Caucus on Bosnia in the United States Congress. Joining this caucus will help demonstrate that you deeply care about issues important to your Bosnian-American voters. Today, there are around 350,000 Bosnian-Americans living in the United States, and as you know, many of those live in your district.
The Congressional Caucus on Bosnia is co-chaired by Congressman Russ Carnahan (D-MO) and Congressman Christopher Smith (R-NJ), two long-time friends of Bosnia and Bosnian-Americans. Over the years, Bosnia and Herzegovina has enjoyed bipartisan support in the United States Congress and all recent administrations have been involved in helping create a peaceful solution following the recent aggression against Bosnia and genocide in Srebrenica.
Should you have any questions on how to become a member of this caucus please have your staff contact either Jeremy Haldeman in Congressman Russ Carnahan's office (phone: 202-225-2671, email: jeremy.haldeman@mail.housegov) or Mark Milosch in Congressman Chris Smith's office (phone: 225-3767, email: mark.milosch@mail.house.gov).
I sincerely hope you will join this bipartisan caucus as a committed supporter of a free, democratic, and sovereign Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as of your local Bosnian-American community. Thank you in advance for joining the Congressional Caucus on Bosnia.
Sincerely,
(your full name) (your signature) (your address of residence)
